Roberto Vélez

Mr. Roberto Vélez Vallejo is the Chief Executive Officer of the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC) since 2015. He is an Economist from the Economics Faculty of the Universidad del Rosario, and was a professor of that faculty from 1997 to 1998.  He studied at the University of New York and received a postgraduate degree from the University of Brighton, England. He represented Colombia as Ambassador in Japan, United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. 

Roberto Vélez joined the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation in 1985 and for more than 20 years worked as Commercial Director, Representative in Asia and Commercial Manager. Currently he is the Chief Executive Officer of the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation since August 12th, 2015, entity that represents the Colombian Coffee guild integrated by 540.000  families located in more than 600 towns throughout the country.  He is known for his great community outreach and today he is very committed to achieving an agreement around a long term policy for the agricultural sector in order to boost rural activity to consolidate a true social coexistence.
